Yes, I was surprised when your father asked me to marry him. It was the biggest surprise in my life. I had no idea that he had carried a ring around in his pocket for 3 days waiting for the perfect moment to ask me.
I will follow the anonymous comment above and tell you that my best surprise too was when my husband asked me to marry him. He took me out in a motor boat, just the two of us, played a really nice song from a tape he had recorded and actually got down on his knee to ask me. It was really a great day and a great surprise.
